In Mark 6-7, Jesus returns to his hometown and is rejected by the people who knew him best. He feeds five thousand in the wilderness, walks on water and declares the divine name, and tears down the wall between Jew and Gentile by declaring all foods clean. But his own disciples, who witnessed every miracle, still don’t understand, because their hearts were hardened.
